Bowls provides good, but not strenuous, exercise in a rewarding social context – so much so that Matlock Area u3a boasts two groups!

Bowls Group “One” play on Matlock Golf Club’s crown green, which is situated in an open, elevated position with splendid views and benefits from all the usual club facilities. We normally have about 15 bowlers (several of whom are beginners) each week who play in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Experienced players provide tuition and guidance for beginners – spare bowls are available for borrowing. The cost of each session and refreshments will be advised by the coordinator.

The group plays weekly, from early April until the end of September, on Monday mornings, from 10.30am until 12.30, subject to suitable weather and ground conditions.
